Aloma Treister was born in Baghdad, Iraq in 1944.
Subsequently she lived in Iran, Israel and London.  She studied Graphic Design at London’s Sir John School of Art and worked at the Israeli Television studio in Israel. In 1973 she married and moved to Melbourne, Australia. In 1981 she completed a B.A. in Fine art, Painting at RMIT, and a Masters of Fine Art at Monash University in 2000.
